How Material Assignments Work#
Acouso-ROOM determines a surface's acoustic composition using the following levels:
- A room-specific Finish or Treatment applied in Room Analysis.
- The project-wide construction mapping in Surface Materials, used as the as-built baseline.
- The room occupancy's default floor, wall, or ceiling material when more specific material information is unavailable.
Treatments supplement the underlying surface composition rather than replacing every baseline material. Review the Base Material, Finish, and Treatment cards in Room Analysis when confirming the composition used for an individual room.
Assignment statuses#
Use the All assignments, Assigned, Using Generic, and Needs attention filters to focus the mapping review.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Assigned | A specific Acouso material is ready for analysis. |
| Using Generic | Analysis can proceed, but the result uses less project-specific material information. |
| Needs Review | The saved mapping cannot currently be applied and uses Generic fallback until it is rebound. |
| Missing or Conflict | The material reference or competing mapping must be resolved before project-wide analysis. |
