Creating A Standard#
- Click Project Standards directly on the Acouso ribbon.
- Alternatively, open Acouso-ROOM, open Project Standards, and click Edit beside the standard dropdown.
- Click Add Standard.
- Enter or edit the standard name and description.
- Save the standard.
Adding An Occupancy#
- Select the standard.
- Click Add Occupancy.
- Enter the occupancy name and description.
- Set the reverberation target.
- Set the sound-level target where required.
- Assign default floor, wall, and ceiling finish materials.
- Save the occupancy.
Default surface materials are used when a room or construction does not have a more specific material assignment. This is useful for early-stage or lightly detailed models that do not yet contain complete finish information.
Advanced Reverberation Target Basis#
Enable Advanced when the reverberation target needs a specific assessment basis.
Available bases can include:
- Mid-frequency average using 500 Hz and 1000 Hz.
- Mid-frequency average including 2000 Hz.
Use the basis required by the selected standard or project brief.
Standards Catalogue#
From the standards editor, click Cloud Catalogue to browse standards made available by Acouso.
- Open Project Standards directly from the Acouso ribbon.
- Alternatively, open it by clicking Edit beside the standard dropdown in the Acouso-ROOM main window.
- Click Cloud Catalogue.
- Review the available standards.
- Select the required standard.
- Add it to the local standards library.
- Review its occupancies and targets before applying it to the project.
Catalogue standards are installed as read-only local references. To customise one:
- Select the installed catalogue standard.
- Click Duplicate.
- Edit and save the new user-created copy.
Only user-created standards can be modified.
Window walkthrough#
Use it to create or adapt acoustic standards, occupancy types, targets, and default materials.
- Click Project Standards directly on the Acouso ribbon.
- Alternatively, open Acouso-ROOM and click Edit beside the standard dropdown.
- Click Add Standard, or duplicate an existing standard to use as a starting point.
- Add occupancy types and set their reverberation and sound-level targets.
- Assign default floor, wall, and ceiling materials where required.
- Use Cloud Catalogue to browse standards supplied by Acouso.
- Duplicate an installed catalogue standard when an editable copy is required.
