Project Standards And Occupancies#
Project standards define the acoustic targets used to assess rooms. Occupancy types represent room uses, such as an office, meeting room, or classroom, and connect each room to the appropriate targets and default materials.
Selecting A Project Standard#
- Open Acouso-ROOM.
- Open Project Standards.
- Select the acoustic standard required for the project.
- Review the rooms detected in the current model scope.
Expected result:
- The selected standard becomes the active project standard.
- Its available occupancy types can be assigned to rooms.
Suggesting Occupancies#
Use Suggest Occupancies to prepare possible occupancy assignments from the room information available in the Revit project.
- Select the required project standard.
- Click Suggest Occupancies.
- Wait for the suggestion window to open.
- Review each proposed occupancy and its High, Mid, or Review confidence state.
- Accept or skip individual suggestions.
- If appropriate, accept the confirmed high-confidence suggestions or all visible suggestions together.
- Manually assign any rooms that still require an occupancy.
Closing the suggestion window discards unapplied suggestions and leaves the existing occupancy assignments unchanged. Accepted suggestions become the project's occupancy assignments.
When Suggest Occupancies runs, Acouso sends the current assignable room names and the selected standard's occupancy labels and descriptions to Acouso cloud services for matching. This workflow counts against the monthly compute quota at the standard 1x rate. Full model geometry is not sent for this workflow.
Suggestions are setup assistance, not final project decisions. Review them against the project brief before acceptance. Suggest Occupancies requires active paid access.
Assigning Occupancies Manually#
- Select one or more rooms.
- Select the required occupancy type.
- Click Set Occupancy.
Expected result:
- The selected occupancy is assigned to the chosen rooms.
- Its acoustic targets are used the next time analysis runs.
Setup checklist#
Select the standard used to assess the project, then assign an occupancy type to each room. Suggest Occupancies can prepare High, Mid, and Review confidence matches for you to accept or skip.
