Material Library#

Use Material Library to create, edit, import, and browse acoustic materials.

Creating A Material#

1. Open Material Library from the Acouso ribbon.
2. Click Add Material.
3. Enter a material name.
4. Select its category.
5. Select its role:
   • Standard Finish.
   • Acoustic Treatment.
   • Both.
6. Select the applicable surface types.
7. Enter absorption coefficients for the required frequency bands, either:
   • By typing values.
   • By adjusting points on the absorption graph.
8. Save the material.

Applicable surface types help Acouso provide relevant material suggestions. They do not prevent the user from assigning the material to another surface where appropriate.

Advanced Material Information#

Enable Advanced to add further specification information, which can include:

• Mounting.
• Installation information.
• Thickness.
• Density.
• Surface mass.
• Airspace.
• Source or reference information.

Enter only information supported by the relevant product data or acoustic reference.

Material Catalogue#

Open the Material Catalogue to browse materials made available by Acouso.

The catalogue can include:

• Material packages.
• Individual materials.
• An indication of whether a catalogue item has already been added.

To add catalogue content:

1. Open Material Catalogue.
2. Select a package or individual material.
3. Review the material information.
4. Click Add All for a package or Add Selected for selected materials.

The material is then available for project setup, room finishes, and acoustic treatments according to its role.

Catalogue materials are added to My Materials as read-only references. Duplicate a catalogue material to create an editable user copy.

If a material referenced by a project is missing, use the missing-material resolution flow to choose a valid replacement. Deleting or replacing a material can affect saved project references, so review the confirmation carefully. Material Library also warns before discarding unsaved edits.

Window walkthrough#

Use it to build and maintain the materials available to project setup and room design.

1. Open Material Library from the Acouso ribbon.
2. Click Add Material, or duplicate an existing material.
3. Set its category and role: Standard Finish, Acoustic Treatment, or Both.
4. Choose applicable surfaces and enter the supported absorption information.
5. Use Advanced when mounting, installation, physical, or source information is required.
6. Use Material Catalogue to add read-only catalogue references, or duplicate one to create an editable copy.
7. Use Import Materials and the supplied Excel template for reviewed batch imports.
